Melinda Vasecka serves as Assistant Vice President of Risk Management for Centauri Insurance. In this role, Vasecka is responsible for the coordination and support of all aspects of risk management that directly impact the strategic direction of the company. Her responsibilities include reinsurance programs, aggregate exposure management, capital allocation and catastrophe modeling.

Vasecka brings more than 15 years of actuarial experience to Centauri including 10 years in reinsurance and CAT management. Prior to joining Centauri, she spent more than 10 years with Main Street America Group, a property and casualty insurance company operating in 36 states. During her tenure at Main Street America Group, Vasecka worked in the Corporate Actuarial Department as part of the Reinsurance Team. In this role, she was the chief resource on Catastrophe Management including developing and implementing comprehensive coastal underwriting strategies. She also coordinated the Ceded Reinsurance renewal placement.

Before joining Main Street America Group, Vasecka spent several years as an Actuarial Analyst for the National Council on Compensation Insurance, an insurance rating and data collection bureau specializing in workers’ compensation insurance and for Milliman, one of the world’s largest providers of actuarial products and services.

Vasecka holds a bachelors degree in Mathematics from the University of Minnesota. She earned her Associates in Reinsurance designation in 2011 and obtained her Associate of the Casualty Actuarial society in 2016.
